Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most exciting milestones. Between preparing the nursery, attending appointments, and getting ready for your little one’s arrival, scheduling newborn photos may feel like something that can wait until after your baby is born.
However, when it comes to newborn photography, planning ahead can make all the difference.
When Should You Book a Newborn Photographer?
The best time to book your newborn photographer is during your pregnancy.
At Image Is Everything Studios, we strongly recommend pre-booking your newborn session before your baby arrives. Many families begin researching newborn photographers during their second trimester and officially reserve their session several weeks or months before their due date.
Pre-booking allows us to reserve availability around your expected due date and begin planning your newborn photography experience in advance.
Because babies rarely arrive exactly on schedule, your due date is used as a placeholder. Once your baby arrives, you’ll contact us within 24 hours so we can schedule your official newborn session date.
Why Are Newborn Photos Taken So Early?
Newborn sessions are ideally photographed during the first few weeks after birth.
During these early days, babies are often sleepier and naturally curl into many of the sweet positions associated with newborn photography. This allows us to create timeless, carefully styled portraits while always keeping your baby’s comfort and safety our priority.
Every baby is different, and we thoughtfully adjust each session based on your baby’s individual needs.
Why Pre-Booking Your Newborn Session Is Important
At Image Is Everything Studios, we schedule only one full newborn session per day.
This allows us to give each family our full attention while maintaining a calm, relaxed studio environment. It also gives us time to thoroughly prepare and clean the studio between newborn sessions.
Because newborn availability is intentionally limited, waiting until after your baby arrives may mean that our schedule is already full during your ideal newborn photography window.
Pre-booking gives you peace of mind knowing your newborn photographer is already part of your baby’s arrival plans.
