How to look your best for your Maternity Portraits

When planning what to wear for your Maternity portrait session, don’t be afraid to wear a form fitting cotton dress or showing off that growing belly!

You’ve gained a little weight and probably don’t feel like wearing anything that shows your curves, but believe us, these will actually hug your body in all the right places.

As for the color, bold is beautiful.  Have fun with color!

Sometimes color isn’t your thing, and that’s ok.

Black or white clothing is complimentary to almost any skin tone and we love using it in the studio.

Coordinating your outfits to match your family is always a great choice!

Solid tops with jeans, especially when outdoors, lends itself to creating a timeless portrait.

Sometimes dads are hesitant to be included in Maternity sessions, but if you incorporate his favorite sport or team, it makes the idea of participating much more fun.

This couple chose to wear their rival teams jerseys.  Wonder what team baby will root for?

Incorporate something special into your maternity session.  Did you buy something special just for your baby?

Did you receive a gift that was very meaningful to you, or maybe a stuffed animal

that you had as a child and you want to pass down to your baby?

Whatever it is, bring it along and your photographer will include it during your portrait session!

For example, the mom below chose to bring her newborn daughters first pair of pink shoes to include in her portraits.  Makes a subtle, yet adorable addition.
